Boys Basketball-Playoff Preview: (5) Fed Hock vs (4) Southeastern
< < Back to boys-basketball-playoff-preview-5-fed-hock-vs-4-southeasternThe Fed Hock Lancers have been on a tear as of late, winning their last four contests of the regular season en route to a third place finish in the TVC-Hocking and a number five-seed in the Athens District. They’ve figured out how to play together as a team and have hit their stride heading into the postseason.
However, the road ahead is no easy ride for the Lancers, as their first round draw pits them against the fourth-seeded Southeastern Panthers from Chillicothe. The Panthers finished their season with a 12-8 record and are coming off a win over Unioto in their final regular season contest.
In that contest, Nick Kellough led all scorers with 19 points. Dylan Miles contributed eight points and six rebounds, while Michael Brown added eight points and seven boards. The Lancers will have to lock down on defense to contain these weapons for the Panthers.
Fed Hock will also have to continue their hot shooting as of late. During their four game win streak, the Lancers have averaged 62 points per game. Point guard Shawn Parsons, who won "Hero of the Week" two weeks ago, must run the show for the Lancers. He must find a balance between scoring and creating for his teammates, while hounding Southeastern's guards on the defensive end.
Tip-off is tonight at 8 p.m. at Athens High School.
