Carpenter and Fields connection dominates South Point through the air

SOUTH POINT, Ohio (WOUB) – The Symmes Valley Vikings travel to South Point Stadium in deep southeastern Ohio, to face the South Point Pointers. The Vikings wouldn’t stop their attack, winning 42-8.
South Point starts the year off undefeated, with a standout win against the Eastern (Pike) Eagles. The Symmes Valley Vikings also begin the 2026-2027, 3-0 with blowout wins against Chesapeake, Meigs and Berne Union.
Symmes Valley won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball. The Vikings wasted no time driving down the field and scoring on a 15-yard rushing touchdown from standout quarterback Bronx Carpenter.
The South Point defense would fight back after running backs Landon Vance’s fumble at the two-yard line. Symmes Valley’s center would snap the ball out of the endzone for a safety, breaking the ice on the scoreboard for the Pointers.
The Pointers would begin their next drive with a 23-yard rush from Vance, but quarterback Ethan Hunt would throw an interception, giving the ball back to Carpenter and his offense.
Jackson Fields would begin his first half tear with a few receptions for 12 and six-yards respectively. Running back Asher Maynard would make his first statement with a 41-yard touchdown run with 1:07 left in the first quarter.
The next drive for the Vikings would feature more work from Fields through the air and Maynard on the ground. Carpenter would hook up with his favorite receiver for a 23-yard touchdown, 9:14 left in the second quarter. Vikings up big 21-2.
Pointers wideout Davon Lewis would field the ball on the next kickoff and would get pushed violently out of bounds at the 50-yard line by the Vikings special teamers. This game would begin to get heated.
South point would put up another zero on their offensive drive, but Symmes Valley would make quick work with the ball. Carpenter would throw a strike to his wideout for a 95-yard touchdown. 28-2 Vikings
Carpenter would find Fields one last time for an 18-yard touchdown before ending their day on the field. 35-8 Vikings up huge.
One last touchdown in the second half by Asher Maynard on a broken play and a slow second half would put the Vikings in the win column to remain undefeated on the season, winning 42-8.
With that, the Vikings add another win to the column, and they look to expand on that when they face Fairfield Christian Academy next week. For the Pointers, they look to bounce back when they travel to take on Rock Hill.
