Law Enforcement Welcomes New Office
< < Back to law-enforcement-welcomes-new-office"It's going to help us get convictions."
That's what Meigs County Sheriff Robert Beegle has to say about the new BCI office in Athens.
"It's definitely going to make a difference," says Beegle. "For instance, the polygraph — we used to have to take the people to London and I'd have to pay an officer 10 hours" to drive up and back.
Beegle and other law enforcement officials were on hand yesterday to watch as Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine presided over a grand opening of the BCI office on Columbus Road.
BCI stands for Bureau of Criminal Investigation, which has its headquarters in London, Ohio.
The BCI Athens Office will serve Southeastern Ohio counties with a variety of law enforcement services.
