Waterford Looks For Upset Over Wahama

The Waterford Wildcats aren’t having the season they envisioned for themselves in 2012.
After a pair of 6-4 seasons the last two years, the Wildcats had hopes that this would be the year that they would step up and compete for a TVC-Hocking title. Unfortunately that hasn’t been the case as Waterford is out to a 1-3 start, with their only victory being a 34-14 victory over Miller in Week 1.
However, Waterford has a chance to turn their season around Friday night when they host one of the best teams in West Virginia, the Wahama White Falcons. Led by quarterback Trenton Gibbs, the White Falcons display one of the best offenses in the TVC-Hocking and have continued to rack up points in 2012 despite the loss of Isaac Lee to graduation.
Wahama enters Friday night’s contest 4-0 overall while averaging 38.5 points per game. But while the White Falcons display a prolific offense, they haven’t been quite as dominant over conference foes as they have been the last two years.
So does that mean Waterford can pull the upset on Friday?
The Wildcats will surely put forth their best effort of the season, as they know that Wahama is the toughest team on their schedule.
A win for Waterford on Friday would be the type of win that the school would remember for a while and give the Wildcats bragging rights that no other TVC-Hocking school has had during the last three years. So while a winning on Friday might go against the odds and be a tremendous upset, it’s not completely out of the realm as Waterford seeks the marquee win of their year, hoping to turn around their season.
