Cambridge City Schools leaders are hoping voters approve a levy appearing on this November's ballot.

Superintendent Dennis Dettra says if voters don't approve the renewal tax levy, the district is considering cutting some busing, looking at pay-to-play costs for athletics, and possibly laying off more teachers.

Dettra says the district can not afford more tax cuts.

"Our district has cut over 1.5 million in the last two years and if we have to cut another 1.4 million it's going to definitely be catastrophic for the district and the students," says Dettra.

Dettra stresses that this levy will not bring back the programs that have been cut in the past.

The Cambridge taxes will stay the same if the levy passes.
