WOUB To Air Presidential Debates Live
< < Back to woub-air-presidential-debates-liveThe WOUB Center for Public Media has announced it will be airing the presidential debates on its televison transmitters in Athens and Cambridge and the WOUB FM Radio Network.
Tom Hodson, Director of the Center said while many stations will be covering the events, WOUB is the only broadcast outlet available to many viewers in Southeast Ohio and the bordering counties of West Virginia.
"It's generally expected that Public Broadcasting would offer such important programming," Hodson said.
"But it is absolutely essential for our viewers since many of them have only off-air signals and WOUB is the only station they can get."
If a television signal is not available, WOUB will also air the programming on its five-station radio network serving listeners in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky.
The debates will be offered to WOUB through PBS.
In all, four debates will be aired focusing on different topics with different formats and moderators:
- 1st Presidential: Domestic Policy – Wednesday, October 3, 9pm ET – Denver, CO
Moderator: Jim Lehrer, PBS
- Vice Presidential – Thursday, October 11, 9pm ET – Danville, KY
