Brooks Named MAC Female Swimmer of the Week
< < Back to brooks-named-mac-female-swimmer-weekAfter a weekend full of top performances at the 2012 Patriot Invitational, Ohio senior Katey Brooks has been named the Mid-American Conference female Swimmer of the Week. The announcement came from league offices Wednesday.
Brooks’ finishes, which include four first-place finishes, a third-place, and a fourth-place effort, gave the Bobcats 191 of their 785.5 points throughout the invitational.
Brooks’ first-place results came in the 200 Free Relay (1:35.27), 400 Free Relay (3:26.49), 400 Medley Relay (3:50.81) and the 800 Free Relay (7:35.06).
In the 100 Free, Brooks finished with a time of 51.85 seconds, which gave her a third-place and is the third fastest time in the event in the MAC so far this season.
Brooks will compete in the 2012 Zippy Invitational from Nov. 30 through Dec. 2, where the Bobcats have won first place each of the last six seasons.
