Lima Company Remembers 9-11
< < Back to lima-company-remembers-9-11Veterans of the Marines' Lima Company that lost nine members in a 2005 roadside bombing in Iraq are marking the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks in
a public ceremony at a minor league ballpark in Columbus.
About a dozen members of Lima Company participated in Sunday's event at Huntington Park. Flags were placed in seats on the third-base side to represent the 2,977 people who died in the attacks.
It's among the observances around the state bearing messages of remembrance and hope.
A handful of religious groups are co-sponsoring interfaith prayer services in several Ohio cities, and some churches honored emergency responders with special morning services.
