Remembering Ohio’s Fallen Firefighters
< < Back to remembering-ohios-fallen-firefightersThe governor will help honor Ohio firefighters killed in the line of duty one day after the nation remembered first responders who died in the 9/11 terror attacks a decade ago.
His office says Gov. John Kasich will be part of a wreath-laying for fallen Ohio firefighters Monday morning in the courtyard at the state fire marshal's office in suburban Columbus.
The fire marshal's office says five Ohio firefighters were killed on the job over the last year.
They'll be celebrated later on Monday in a ceremony that also will honor this year's civilian and firefighter recipients of awards given for brave acts that saved lives.
