The Ohio Bobcats took down the Oakland Grizzlies in convincing Saturday, 6-0. The win game is the fourth shutout for Ohio and the first one since late October against Arizona. The Bobcats' now stand at 22-5-3.

A big part to the victory was goalie Matt Michno who recorded 19 saves and was awarded first star of the game. The Bobcats' also got big production from their penalty killers as they burned all five Oakland power plays.

Offense was efficient early for the Bobcats, as they racked up half their goals in the first period and never looked back from there. Of the six Ohio goals the last one came from Tyler Pecka, his first goal of the season.

On the other side Michael Harris was able to score his 20th goal of the season off a faceoff. The guys all played well despite giving Oakland a fair amount of power play chances.

Saturday’s win is the fifth straight for the Bobcats as they look to carry this momentum into February where they will play Penn State, Kent State, and then host the CSCHL February 15th through the 18th. Ohio outscores opponents almost 2-to-1 at home compared to barely outscoring opponents on the road. ACHA nationals begin in March and round out the season.
