Hocking County Commissioners Support Plea To Not Relocate Office
< < Back to hocking-county-commissioners-support-plea-not-relocate-officeAthens County is receiving help from neighboring counties in their plea to keep an Ohio Department of Job and Family Services office in The Plains.
Hocking County Commissioners decided to back Athens County in their plea Thursday morning with a letter.
ODJFS plans to shut down the Athens County office, and relocate the jobs to Franklin County.
This decision would leave 50 people out of jobs unless they chose to relocate or commute daily.
Hocking County Commissioners write in the letter they "believe for economic reasons it would be beneficial for Southeastern Ohio for those jobs to stay in Athens County."
