Washington County Woman Recalls Cruise Ship Ordeal
< < Back to washington-county-woman-recalls-cruise-ship-ordealA Washington County woman says she would go on another cruise despite being one of the 4,100 people stranded on the Carnival cruise ship Triumph.
Barlow-Vincent Elementary Assistant Principal Rebecca Johnson says the cruise was supposed to be a girls' weekend at sea.
But a fire in the engine room turned it into a five day ordeal.
Johnson says she had to use the bathroom by using little red bags which would be left in the hallway for the stewards to pick up.
Some hallways on the ship were flooded with raw sewage.
Johnson says her hallway on the sixth floor did not flood so she could prop her door open to get air into her room.
She got full refund, her return flight was paid for, and she received $500 in extra compensation and a voucher for a future cruise.
Johnson says she has no plans to sue the cruise line.
