Finalists Named For Ohio School Superintendent
< < Back to finalists-named-ohio-school-superintendentTwo Ohio educators have been named as finalists for the job of heading the state's public school system.
A state Board of Education subcommittee on Monday named the finalists for the state superintendent of public instruction.
They are Richard Ross – who is current director of Gov. John Kasich's Office of 21st Century Education – and deputy superintendent Michael Sawyers, who has been the acting superintendent since August.
Final interviews are scheduled for the pair on Monday. The full board is expected to announce its pick the next day.
Thirty people applied for the job as the board seeks to replace former Superintendent Stan Heffner. He resigned amid ethical questions about his relationship with an educational testing contractor.
