The 2023-2024 season at the Actors Guild of Parkersburg opens on September 29 with the hilarious British farce “See How They Run.”

The show features Penelope Toop, a young American actress who has married an English vicar, but can’t seem to settle in to life as a vicar’s wife in a small village. When an old friend of hers shows up unexpectedly, she hatches a plan for the two of them to take in a show in a nearby town. Her friend is an American soldier, and he has to follow strict rules about where he is seen in uniform. Penelope convinces him to masquerade as a vicar, and the silliness begins. When an important Bishop shows up, along with a visiting priest, and an escaped Russian prisoner who also masquerades as a vicar, no one is quite sure what to think.

Curtain time for “See How They Run” is 8 PM on September 29 and 30 and October 6 and 7 and 2:30 PM on October 1. Tickets cost $20 ($18 for students and seniors) and are available now at https://www.actors-guild.com/buy-tickets.html.
