Religion and Peace: Global Perspectives flier

Ohio University’s Contemporary History Institute is excited to announce the theme for the February 20-21, 2020 Baker Peace Conference in Athens, Ohio. This year, we will focus on “Religion and Peace: Global Perspectives.” Our speakers include former State Department officer Professor Peter Mandaville (keynote speaker) and experts on religion, politics, and identity ranging from South America to sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

The Baker Peace Conference is an annual event at Ohio University dating back to 1988. The upcoming conference will examine religion as a source of peace, a force in peacebuilding in the global south, and a source of identity in the contemporary world. It will feature a Thursday evening keynote address (Feb. 20, 7:30-9 pm in Baker Center Ballroom A) and three panels on Friday (10-noon, 1-3, and 3-5 in Walter Hall Rotunda) in the format of a symposium.
