Eight blocks of downtown Lancaster will be lit with luminaries Saturday, Dec. 14, for the 41st annual Candlelight Tour, presented by the Fairfield County Heritage Association
Guides lead guests to seven historic churches, where each will present its own holiday music program. This year’s theme is “Behold His Birth.”
The evening begins at 6pm with simultaneous performances at First Presbyterian Church and First United Methodist Church. For the second performance, the audiences switch churches. And then attendees are divided into smaller groups to visit:
- John’s Episcopal Church.
- Emanuel Lutheran Church.
- Peter’s Lutheran Church.
- First English Lutheran Church.
All the groups meet up at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church for the grand finale. The program ends about 9:30.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $4 for students 5 to 18. They may be purchased in advance at the Main Branch of Fairfield National Bank, 143 W. Main St.; the FNB branch inside Meijer, 2900 Columbus-Lancaster Road; the Sherman House Museum, 137 E. Main St.; and the Georgian Museum, 105 E. Wheeling St.

On the night of the tour, tickets for adults will be $12 each. They may be purchased at First Presbyterian Church, 222 N. Broad St.; and First United Methodist Church, 163 E. Wheeling St. Ticket windows open at 5:30 p.m.
