Celebrate Trails Day is Saturday, April 27! We hope you will join us, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and people across the country in celebrating America’s amazing trails this spring. Celebrate Trails Day is more than a day outside. It’s an opportunity to enjoy your local trails while sharing appreciation for the ways that trails make an impact on our lives and communities. This volunteer event is on Saturday, April 27, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and could consist of different tasks, including but not limited to rock armoring, shaping the trail to promote drainage, and brushing the act of clearing a trail’s corridor/path from overgrown vegetation. Registered volunteers will meet Trail Crew Leaders at the Chauncey-Dover Park Trailhead (located at 8433 West Bailey Road, Millfield, OH 45761) of the Baileys Trail System at 9:00 am. Those departing with OU in the campus van will meet at 8:30 for pickup before arriving at the trailhead at 9 am. Keep reading to learn more about what to expect.
