Come join the fun at the Chauncey Bike Rodeo, June 23 from 1 pm – 2:30 pm at the Abdella’s parking lot beside the Chauncey Library! This event will have exciting bike handling courses, bike safety lessons, and free bicycle helmets that children can decorate (while supplies last). There will also be a raffle (tickets are 50 cents each) of new and gently used children bikes. In addition to the bike activities, there will also be an opportunity to learn more about the potential bike path spur coming to Chauncey along with new sidewalk infrastructure, crosswalks, and road signs. This event is free and open to the public!

The Chauncey Bike Rodeo is hosted by the Chauncey Community Improvement Committee, Creating Healthy Communities through the Athens City-County Health Department, Tour De Forest and Athens Bicycle Club. The Athens City-County Health Department is also looking for gently used children bikes to be donated for the Chauncey Bike Rodeo. If you have any gently used children bikes, please drop them off at the health department on June 19th and 20th from 7:30 am – 4 pm. (Donation receipts will be given). For more information please contact: Ashely Miller at 740-592-4431 ext 226.
