Creating a Community Response to Acts of Hate

December 12, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

In 1986 the white supremacist Aryan Congress declared the U.S. Northwest to be their “homeland.” Hate groups in the region became bolder and more violent.  In 1993, Billings, Montana found itself the target of a series of hate crimes.  You are invited to see a short film about how the town of Billings responded, and to talk about how other communities (most especially ours) can push back against anti-Semitism and other acts of hate.  There will be a screening in each of the branches of the Athens County Library, on Wednesday nights from mid-December to mid-February.
