Film Screening: Managing Risk in a Changing Climate
October 15, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeOlney Friends School, WPSU Penn State, and The Network for Sustainable Climate Risk Management (SCRiM) will host a documentary screening of “Managing Risk in a Changing Climate”. This regional Emmy nominated film effectively communicates the complexity of climate risks and the multi-faceted approaches to combating them. The documentary screening will take place on October 15th, from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm in the Main Hall on Olney Friends School campus (61830 Sandy Ridge Rd., Barnesville, OH 43713). This event is free to attend and is open to the local community.
Following the short film will be a Q&A session with SCRim’s Managing Director, Robert Nicholas. Concurrently as an Associate Research Professor for Penn State’s Earth and Environmental Systems Institute, Dr. Nicholas spends much of his time focusing on transdisciplinary responses to climate-related challenges facing communities and industries, whether it be flood risk and economic viability for small river towns in PA, trade-offs in forest management strategies on tribal lands, or understanding potential climate change impacts on the dairy industry.
