The American Red Cross in Athens will hold its 9th annual Hometown Heroes Breakfast on Nov. 14 at the Community Center. Doors open at 7 a.m. This year we are honoring: Group Hero, the Baby Friendly group from O’Bleness Hospital; Community Hero: Tim Peacock; Public Safety Heroes Lt. Nick Magruder and officer Justin Boggs; Community Hero, Catherine Hauschild; Healthcare Hero, Eliza Harper; Community Hero, Kevin Dennis; Community Hero, Joe Pallo; Education Hero, Greg Sikorski; Senior Adult Hero, Helen Swaim; and the Sandy Shirey Volunteer Award will go to Evelyn McKnight, Margaret Shields, and Kirk Greenfield. Individual tickets are $20.00, tables are $175.00 and corporate sponsorships are available on different levels.
