Important Community Training about Human Trafficking

March 21, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Did You Know?

  • Ohio has the 4th highest rate of human trafficking among the States.
  • Up to 88% of victims have contact with a medical provider or social agency during the time they are being trafficked.
  • Human trafficking in Southeast Ohio has increased alongside the opioid crisis in our region – this is not just an urban problem.

Get the facts. Join us Wednesday, March 21st from 6-8pm and learn how you can identify potential trafficking victims and connect them with support services.

Speaker: Tonya Folks is the Co-Founder of Be Free Dayton, a nonprofit, anti-sex trafficking organization and the current Human Trafficking Training Liaison to the Sheriff’s Department of Montgomery County. Ms. Folks has been a part of the anti-trafficking movement in Ohio since its inception. She has worked with local, state and federal investigators, and educated thousands of people on the unique characteristics of both labor and sex trafficking in Ohio.

We would appreciate an RSVP to info@athensprc.com. The event will be held at Central Venue, 29 E. Carpenter St., Athens, OH  and is sponsored by Central Venue and the Pregnancy Resource Center of Athens County.

Please see the attached flyer and invite your colleagues and friends. You can make a difference—we hope to see you there!
