$85Have you always wanted to learn how to program a robot?
Day 1 – January 6th, 6-9pm
Day 2 – January 8th, 6-9pm
Learning to program microcontrollers – micro computers that control lights and motors – is the first step. This class is first in a series of classes leading up to you leaving with the skills to program your very own robot!
Class Prerequisites: An inquiring mind and exceptional interest in making things! All ages 8 and up welcome for this class.
In the two, 3-hr sessions of this class, students will learn the following:
-how to connect a microcontroller to a computer for purposes of programming and data logging
-configure a microcontroller to be an input or output device
-how to use a microcontroller to create a software loop, control an LED, and read a digital input
Our talented instructor, Ed Geckler, is graciously donating his time for this class, so the only fee is for us to purchase the BASIC Stamp Activity Kit at cost from Parallax, and batteries.
This kit will be yours to keep after the class and contains all text and hardware needed to enable you to continue learning on your own, even should you decide not to attend future classes in this series.
ALL CLASS SIGNUPS AND FEES WILL BE DUE BY MIDNIGHT, DECEMBER 27TH, to give us time to order materials in advance of class time. Once you sign up at the link below, you will be sent a link to pay your class fee via Paypal.
