Come and learn how make a classic end-grain cutting board for yourself or as a really nice gift for a loved one. We will dimension our roughcut wood with the planer, jointer and tablesaw. Then will engage in several glue-ups, one on Tuesday night and another on Wednesday night.

You will leave Thursday night with an oiled butcher block of your own. The oil will need to cure several weeks or so to fully harden, so it should be ready just in time for Christmas if that’s your goal.

Remember that taking the woodshop orientation (a different class offered by the MakerSpace) is not a prerequisite for other woodshop classes—it is only required for using the tools on your own.

Anyone interested in this course must pay a $20 deposit by Monday, December 11th. You will receive an email from us so that you can pay the deposit online. If you prefer to pay in person, please come see us at the MakerSpace.

$100 covers the materials, shop fee, and tuition for this course.
