March Guided Hike: Phenology

Join this free guided hike on Wayne National Forest’s Baileys Trail System led by a National Association for Interpretation Certified Interpretive Guide.
Phenology is the study of recurring, seasonal plant and animal life cycles—such as flowering, migration, and hibernation—and their timing in relation to climate and weather. Phenology is derived from the Greek and means “the study of appearance.”
March’s hike will be on Bullfrog Loop, which is an easy trail with gently rolling dips and easy turns on a 1.5 miles loop that is Natural Tread 36-48″ wide.
Meeting at Chauncey-Dover Trailhead before carvanning to another site. This is the last opportunity to use the bathroom facilities. The group will wait at the shelter house until 545, then depart.
This hike will not take the full two hours, but leaves a buffer window.
The guide is Wilderness First Responder-certified and carries a first-aid kit. Hike at your own risk.
The guided hike series is hosted by The Outdoor Recreation Council of Appalachia (ORCA).
