Emma received a grant through the African American Community Fund of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio/ I’m a Child of Appalachia Fund/FAO.
Emma is a senior at Federal Hocking High School and has lived in this area her entire life. She is a direct descendant of Michael and Hannah Tabler, the first people to settle in what became Tablertown. One of the many things Emma is involved in is interning at the Public Defender’s Office. She hopes to pursue a career in law beginning at Ohio University in the fall, and upon graduating from law school plans to return here to serve her community. Emma loves this area and truly believes it is unique and special, so is passionate about doing whatever she can to serve the community that has done so much to support her.
