MUSKINGUM UNIVERSITY MUSIC DEPARTMENT PRESENTS FALL CHOIR AND BAND CONCERT
November 1 @ 7:00 pm
The Muskingum University Music Department will present a fall concert featuring the Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble on Friday, November 1 at 7 p.m. in Brown Chapel. The Concert Choir will present “When We Arrive At Home,” a program that explores the idea of finding meaning and contentment in community and within ourselves, despite turmoil in the world all around us and our own individual challenges. The program contains works about finding faith, building relationships, and being patient as we work together.
The Wind Ensemble will present “Music of the Spheres,” which explores the connection between music and science, and has an underlying theme of human technological development. There are works that represent different scientific concepts, ranging from stunning colors of a sunset to a work that musically represents the four primary elements—air, water, earth, and fire.
The Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble are comprised of students from all majors on campus and are directed by Dr. Daniel Strychacz (Concert Choir) and Dr. David Turrill (Wind Ensemble). The concert is free and open to the public.
