Ohio Ecological Food and Farming Association SE Chapter

August 29, 2021 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

please join the SE OEFFA chapter for a tour of the Blaney Family Farm, Albany, OH. The tour will start at 12:30 and following the potluck, we will have a potluck lunch. Our hosts for the tour will be Adam and Tabby Blaney.

Adam and Tabby Blaney and family own and operate Blaney Family Farm. They are first generation farmers, taking the plunge to full time farming in 2019. They met and were married while students at OU, and have returned back to the area to build a life on the farm with their 4 children.

The Blaneys produce a variety of vegetables on 1-1/2 acres of cultivated ground, with an emphasis on salad greens and tomatoes. Though not certified, organic practices and sustainability are priorities at the Blaney Farm. The ultimate mission of the farm is to encourage the building of community around small farms, helping people see that local vegetable farms can support the needs of a community, if given the opportunity and support. Making space for the training of young people in the art of farming also holds a special place in their hearts.

The Blaneys market their products at the Athens Farmers Market, through their CSA, and through many restaurants and local grocers
