Join the Mount Zion Black Cultural Center this Veterans Day, November 11th, from 6-8 PM at the Southeast Ohio History Center for the opening of the Black Veterans of Athens, Ohio exhibit. This free event will feature light refreshments, photos, artifacts, and a range of special presentations. Special guests include The Athens Middle School’s Andrew Jackson Davison Club and the Athens Boy/Girl Scouts.

This exhibit is a vital opportunity to shine a light on the contributions of Black veterans from our area. It highlights their sacrifices, resilience, and dedication, which have often been overlooked in historical narratives. By honoring these individuals, we not only recognize their service but also enrich our community’s understanding of its diverse history.
