Solar Co-op Info Session | Appalachian Ohio
September 28, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Free info session to grow a solar buying co-op in Appalachian Ohio — Starting in Athens, Ohio.
Appalachia has long been a source of energy production: coal, oil, gas, and more recently solar and wind. Now, more residents will have the opportunity to produce their own buying power in a clean, cost-effective way. Co-op members will use their group buying power to get a discounted price for solar panels and full installation of a solar system.
The buying power of co-ops save homeowenrs an average of 20% compared to going solar as an individual. The co-op members will select the installer, or mutliple installers, through a competitive RFP (request for proposal) process.
If you’ve ever wanted to go solar, now is your chance!
OH-SUN is partnering with ARECC (Appalachian Renewable Energy Consumer Coops), UpGrade Athens County, Rural Action, and Ohio Interfaith Power and Light to bring one or more solar co-ops to southeast Ohio.
