July 20th – Johnny’s in the Basement

It’s summertime and the patio at the Dairy Barn is open! Each Friday, from 6-8pm, we’ll be hosting a different band for our Summer Music Series. (rain or shine, event will be moved indoors if needed)

Long time members of the Athens music scene for over 40 years (The Wingnuts, The Local Girls, Realbilly Jive, Hotcakes, The Royales, etc.), Johnny’s in the Basement plays a wide mix of material.  The band features the singing of Mimi Hart and Jim Smailes and the guitar playing of John Borchard and Jim. Songs as diverse as those penned by Woody Guthrie, NRBQ, Steve Earle, Jules Shear, Warren Zevon, Bob Dylan, and Ricky Nelson, among many others, provide the foundation for an entertaining and interesting musical evening.

Doors open at 5:30pm, a cash bar and food by Mauvette will be available.
