November 5, 1930, proved to be one of the worst days in Ohio’s history. An explosion at Sunday Creek Coal Mine No. 6 took the lives of 82 men: 72 miners, Sunday Creek officials and guests. Ron Luce, author of the forthcoming book The Millfield Mine Disaster has done extensive research that provides information about what happened, why it happened and how it could have been prevented. Luce will provide a brief history of the mine itself and will provide findings that were kept from the public for years.  FREE and open to the public.
