Muskingum Youth Performing Arts lights up the holidays season by presenting The Nutcracker. This delightful holiday classic is performed at the Secrest Auditorium Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, November 26th at 2 p.m.

This visually stunning family-friendly production includes more than 100 local dancers under the direction of Whitney Lewis and Morgan Lothes, and one guest artist, Brian Grant of Louisville Ballet.

The Nutcracker tells the tale of Clara, who is given a special Nutcracker Doll from her Uncle Drosselmeyer. Adventure awaits as her Nutcracker Doll transforms into a Prince who battles the fearsome Mouse Queen. Together, they defeat the Mouse Queen and begin a journey through the Land of the Snow.

With the the help of the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara and her Nutcracker Prince travel to the Land of the Sweets where they are entertained by an Arabian Princess, Spanish Dancers, Chinese Dancers, and delicate Waltzing Flowers.
