Come learn about fruit tree care with Community Food Initiatives! This workshop will be led by Weston Lombard, owner of Solid Ground Farm.

Learn the basics of fruit tree pruning and training to increase the productivity and health of your trees. Topics covered include: reasons for pruning, shaping young trees, rehabbing older trees, timing, tools and safety, types of cuts, and the response of trees to various cuts. No experience necessary!

This workshop will take place at Highland Park on Highland Ave. in Athens. After the workshop, consider joining CFI for our annual tree pruning work party. Help us prune the community orchards and practice your pruning skills. We will travel in groups to the orchards, located by the East Side Community Garden and Arts West.
