Walking Tour Features Chillicothe’s Great Fire of 1852
October 16, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$5.00In the mid 1800s, Chillicothe was a thriving port on the Ohio & Erie Canal. That all changed on April 1, 1852 when almost two solid blocks of Chillicothe’s commercial district was leveled in The Great Fire of 1852! The events and tragedies of the day will be shared Sunday, October 16, on The Chillicothe Restoration Foundation’s final walking tour of 2016.
Tours will start at Water and Walnut Streets and will be available from 1-5 pm with the last tickets sold at 4:00. The cost is $5.00 per person, children 10 and under free. Walking tour booklets will be available for an additional $5.00. Raffle tickets to win one of three Ted Fickisen prints will also be available at the tour. Tour tickets are available at the event or by contacting the Ross Chillicothe Visitor’s Bureau at 740-702-7677 or the Pump House Center for the Arts at 740-772-5783.
