A suspect is recovering after getting shot in the arm by a Gallia County Sheriff's deputy.

Sheriff Joe Browning says Ranon Brock, 36, led the deputy on a high-speed chase early Monday morning until he lost control and drove into a ditch.

Brock then got out of his car and fought with the deputy, who then shot him in the arm.

Brock was taken to a local hospital to be treated for the injury and released.

Brock is currently charged with drug trafficking and a felony probation violation from a prior incident.

Charges from this case are still pending.

Browning is not releasing the name of the deputy at this time.

Brock is being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
