Albini Named To USA National Team

Torrie Albini, former Ohio University field hockey star, was named to the 2013-14 U.S.A. Women’s National Team, according to OhioBobcats.com. She was one 30 athletes selected, among them were 12 Olympians.

Albini was selected after competing in the 2013 Women’s National Championship at the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.

Albini has recorded 35 caps and 11 goals in her four-year international career.

The 18-player roster for the World Cup qualifier is expected to be announced during the week of June 3.

During Abilini’s career at Ohio University she was named All-MAC in three seasons. Albini ranks fourth all-time at Ohio in career assists with 24, second in career goals with 49, and second all-time in career points with 122.
