Defending Champ Minot State Tops Ohio, 4-3

The defending national champion Minot State never trailed in its Friday matchup against Ohio, as it took down the Bobcats 4-3 at home.

It was the Beavers' first game against Ohio since they eliminated the Bobcats in the semifinals of the ACHA National Tournament last year.

Mike Kretz, Michael Harris and David Ramos were the three goal scorers for Ohio in its losing effort that dropped its overall record to 20-6-1.

Ohio has lost its last three games to Minot State, but will get its chance to alter that streak on Saturday night again in Minot, N.D.

The second contest of the two-game weekend series is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. puck-drop.
