The Marietta men’s basketball team defeated the Capital Crusaders Wednesday night by a score of 82-72. The Pioneers have now won two straight contests and are picking up some mid-season momentum.
Both teams exchanged leads in the first half, however Marietta led most of the time. The half ended with Marietta up by just one, but the second half is where the Pioneers flourished. Marietta led from the start of the second half all the way to the final buzzer, as they recorded a ten-point 82-72 victory.
Marietta beat Capital by ten points in the paint and did not allow the Crusaders to get a single off turnovers. RaNeal Ewing and AJ Davis carried the load for Marietta tonight. Ewing posted 11 points, and Davis dropped 13.
Marietta will hit the road to take on Wilmington College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
