Wahama White Falcons Preview
< < Back to wahama-white-falcons-previewThe Wahama White Falcons were new comers to the TVC Hocking one year ago and might have surprised some people by winning the conference, going a perfect 10-0 in their inaugural season. They went on to carry that momentum into the playoffs advancing to the Class A state championship in West Virginia but unfortunately lost to Wheeling Central Catholic in the final. However that was last year’s team.
The 2011 White Falcons though have several key players returning from the state runner up team from a year ago. Head Coach Ed Cromley feels that it is not going be an easy task to repeat last year’s success. “It’s always tough to repeat. This year I think the path to the championship is wide open,” Said Cromley. Wahama’s season opener will be a difficult test as they battle the Trimble Tomcats.
Last year Wahama edged out Trimble who finished second in the TVC Hocking, winning 14-6 in what was their smallest margin of victory for the White Falcons last season. “We knew it was going to be difficult but we were very fortunate to beat Trimble last year,” Cromley said. The schedule doesn’t get easier for Wahama with 3 more TVC Hocking games after that including two road games at Eastern and at Belpre. “I think Belpre can be a big surprise this season.” Said Cromley. With all that aside, the Wahama White Falcons will likely be the team to beat this season in Federal Hocking.
