Update: No Damage at Ohio University From Earthquake
< < Back to earthquake-felt-ohioThere are no reports of damage or injuries on Ohio University's campus after an earthquake in Virginia was felt there.
Ohio University sent out the announcement via twitter.
The quake was felt around Ohio, as well as several other states, including Washington, New York City and North Carolina.
It happened about 1:45 p.m.
The Athens County Sheriff's Office is reporting getting several calls from people reporting an earthquake.
But, no damage is reported in the county either.
Office buildings swayed in Columbus and Cincinnati and the press box at the Cleveland Indians' Progressive Field shook.
At least one building near the Statehouse was evacuated in downtown Columbus.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the 5.9 magnitude earthquake was centered northwest of Richmond, Va
