Drop In Labor Day Travel Predicted

A survey predicts a two percent drop in Labor Day travel by Ohioans, compared to last year's holiday weekend.
Auto club AAA said Wednesday that the decline is anticipated because of recent uncertainty about the economy as well as rising air fares.
Gas prices are not expected to have much impact. AAA says 71percent of people intending to travel around the holiday say the cost of gasoline won't affect their plans.
The group looks for about 1.3 million Ohioans to venture at least 50 miles from home for Labor Day, out of 31.5 million people taking trips nationwide.
The survey indicates 50,000 Ohio holiday weekend travelers will fly to their destinations, down 1.6 percent from last year. A slight increase is expected in Ohioans hitting the roads.
