House Bill 63 Changes Abortion Law For Minors
< < Back to
Under House Bill 63, recently approved by the Ohio Senate, requires that minors who are considering abortion allow the court to inquire about their full understanding of the physical and emotional repercussions of getting an abortion, before going through with the process.
This judicial bypass was revised under Ohio’s Parental Consent for Abortion Law.
Minors wanting to ‘bypass’ parental consent must convince a judge that she is well informed and mature.
These amendments to the original bill, which was passed in March, will pass through the Ohio House of Representatives before being sent to Governor John Kasich.
