The votes are in and the results have been tallied. The Ohio volleyball team fared well in the selection of All-MAC teams and four players have been honored.  Katie Post and Kelly Lamberti were named First Team All-MAC, Lexie Harnett was named Second Team All-MAC and Lamberti and Chelsea Bilger were named to the MAC All-Freshmen team.

The selection is Post’s second in her career. The senior leads the league in blocking and is ranked 11th nationally in blocking as well. She is also third in the league in hitting percentage with a .354 average.

After her first season, Lamberti sits second in point scoring in the league behind MAC Player of the Year, Northern Illinois’ Lauren Wicinski. She is also ranked second in kills and fifth in serving. Lamberti leads the ‘Cats in double-doubles with 18 on the year so far.

Harnett receives All-MAC honors for a second time in her career and is ranked third in the MAC in blocks per set.  She was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week on several occasions this season.

Bilger is honored after finishing second for the Bobcats in kills and third in points.  She joins fellow freshmen Lamberti with double-digit double-doubles with 12 of her own on the season.

Lamberti is pleased with the announcement, but knows that the hard work must continue this weekend.

“I was excited when I heard,” Lamberti said. “But I mean I just have to keep playeing for the team.”

Post is happy with the number of ‘Cats in the prestigious group.

“It feels good and I’m very happy that Chelsea, and Kelly and Lexie all made it too,” Post said. “It’s very good for our school and to represent.”

Ohio faces Miami Friday in a quarterfinal match up at 7 p.m.
