Southeast Ohio residents can learn more about a local government financial assistance program in mid-January.

The Ohio Department of Development will hold six information sessions around the state about the Local Government Innovation Fund.

The program offers funding for community service projects and collaborative efforts to reduce the cost of community planning. According to the agency's website, funding can range from $100,000 in grant money to $500,000 in loan assistance.

The meeting will be held Jan. 11 at Washington State Community College in Marietta.
