Campus Crime Alert Issued At Ohio University

Ohio University police officers are warning students about an attempted aggravated robbery that happened on campus in Athens.

Police say it occurred in the early morning hours of January 18.

The victim told police he was walking through the Seigfred Hall parking lot when he was confronted by an unknown man.

The man brandished a knife and told the victim to give him his wallet.

The victim refused and was able to to get away.

The man is described as white, in his early 30's, between 5'6" and 5'8" and 160 to 180 pounds.

He was wearing a dark ball cap, a green/gray Carhart coat and blue jeans.

The man was described as having the appearance of a laborer.
