Zanesville Couple Convicted In Death And Disappearance Of Toddler Boys
< < Back to zanesville-couple-convicted-death-and-disappearance-toddler-boysA jury has found an Ohio couple guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the drowning of the woman's 3-year-old son and disappearance of his 2-year-old brother during a camping trip.
Kasey Klein, 25, and Richard Klein Jr., 38, of Zanesville were convicted Thursday in Muskingum County.
Authorities have said the boys wandered away from a family campsite near the Muskingum River in June.
The older boy's body was found in the water within hours; the younger boy has not been found.
Kasey Klein's attorney had pointed the finger at her husband.
But Richard Klein's attorney, William Mooney, had argued "the boys died as a result of life happening, not because someone did something wrong."
A prosecutor had argued the couple's irresponsibility led to the deaths
