Journalism Students Premiere Zambia Documentary
< < Back to journalism-students-premiere-zambia-documentaryOhio University journalism students who participated in a study abroad program to Africa will screen a documentary tonight about their experiences.
The 23-minute program follows the 18 Scripps College of Communication students while they travelled to Zambia during the winter intercession.
The group spent 24 days exploring Zambian media, government, culture, wildlife and service opportunities. Dr. Yusuf Kalyango, a Scripps School of Journalism professor, organized the trip in conjunction with the Office of Education Abroad.
Sophomore Brooke Bunce was one of the students on the trip, and helped with the creation of the documentary that highlights their experiences.
The study abroad program also featured internships with multi-national corporations, national media, government institutions, and non-profit organizations.
The presentation also features a special issue of the Institute of International Journalism quarterly magazine, focusing on Zambia. The screening takes place at 6 p.m. at the Scripps School of Journalism.
