Prescription Drug Arrests On Highway In Athens County
< < Back to prescription-drug-arrests-highway-athens-countyTwo West Virginia men are facing charges in Athens County after investigators say they found bulk amounts of bydrocodone and oxycontin in their vehicle.
Sheriff Pat Kelly says Anthony Strickland, 32, and Michael Graham, 29, were pulled over Saturday for a traffic offense on Route 33 by a county K-9 unit.
Deputies say the dog indicated drugs were present and Kelly says 273 pills were found.
Kelly says the men confessed to driving from Charleston, West Virginia to Toledo, Ohio to buy the drugs.
"I couldn't be prouder of our canine units and the Natcotics Enforcement Team for their efforts in our fight against this drug epidemic and for the number of lives they are saving," says Kelly.
Both men were taken to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.
