Accident Closes State Route 668 Near Logan
< < Back to accident-closes-state-route-668-near-loganUPDATE 2:30 p.m. A dispatcher with the Athens post of the Ohio Highway Patrol says State Route 668 is open to traffic following an accident on State Route 93 this morning.
Clean-up crews remain on the scene and workers from the Ohio Department of Transportation are directing traffic.
According to a release from OHP, 33-year-old Mathew Fountain drove his semi truck left of center on State Route 93 and struck the car driven by James Lansing, 49. The accident happened around 7:15 a.m.
The truck, which was loaded with cooking grease, rolled in the accident. The Environmental Protection Agency responded to coordinate the clean-up.
Part of State Route 668 is closed at this hour due to an accident.
The Ohio Department of Transportation closed the road at State Route 93 just north of Logan near mile marker 13.51.
An Ohio State Patrol dispatcher says troopers are still at the scene and there are minor injuries involved in the crash.
Detours are set up in order for motorists to get around the closure.
ODOT estimates the road will re-open round 2 p.m. today.
